Syndicate Whistleblows: YEEZY Season 2 Will Not Be Releasing This Summer

Screenshot_51.png

https://hypebeast.com/2016/4/yeezy-season-2-will-not-be-releasing-this-summer

Let me shed some light on this situation.

First season everybody bought it up, but it didn’t sell well in retail stores at all, despite what everybody thinks. Check the actual retail store numbers, it sold like shit, and and all the listed retailers bought the absolute bare minimum to be listed as a stockist to ride the Yeezy credibility wave. I’m talking 1-3 of each piece in as few sizes as possible. I have confirmed sources on this, don’t question it. Kanye blew through $8M of Adidas’ money last collection just for the sake of running a massive vanity project. Adidas still profited it off this through making back their money in the Tubulars and other Adidas variant sneakers. There is nothing special about the clothes, they are made in the Adidas factory and use typical product production methods. This isn’t like Visvim where you have guys literally hand dying every strip by hand using 16th century methods. The pricing is bullshit, and you all know that.

The sneakers and boots sold amazingly, but they always have so that’s not news. They were also limited so they couldn’t serve as a cash grab to recover the costs of doing an $8M promotional line. Right now, they’re stating they’re releasing it in a seasonless model to spread it out but the real reason probably is to get their production margin and minimums up high enough to not lose as much money this time around when producing such small quantities for that many stores.

Going seasonless is bullshit, the fashion distribution system does not work that way. You can break it up into quarters but anything more than that and the retailers will be too rushed to be able to turn products around fast enough, and thus make buying Yeezy a huge risk for them. Stores need minimum 90 days from point of delivery to flip products. The shoes will definitely have ridiculous camp outs but the clothes won’t. For E-Commerce maybe he can drop every week, but that’s putting him more in the category of a brand like Supreme, when he wants to be treated like Wang or somebody else high end.

If you don’t believe me, when the list of stockists holding Yeezy 2 comes out, see if it’s twice as big as the first year list, the same size, or smaller. It will probably be smaller, because no decent retail store wants to spend $20k on bullshit product that doesn’t move. Laws of the jungle, real fashion is forever. Hype is temporary bullshit. He may have done one season so far and got everybody to buy, but if the retailers aren’t actually making money off it they logically won’t do it again if they care about their bottom line.

Syndicate Whistleblows Roy Wood$: Listen to Roy Wood$’ Debut Album ‘Waking at Dawn’

Screenshot_47.png

https://hypebeast.com/2016/7/roy-woods-waking-at-dawn-stream

Insider Info: OVO bullied the shit out of this kid. OVO would not give him a decent deal for his entire album, and only wanted his song “Drama” that Drake could steal for his own album. Roy refused, and asked for $50k for Drama instead.

OVO offered him a solid million dollar contract deal, saying they would give him a full deal for the entire 40 minute album if he sold Drake “Drama”. Roy Woods agreed, but by doing so unknowingly voided the terms of his contract by removing the song Drama, thus reducing his album from 40 down to 36 minutes. The contract stated it had to be exactly 40 minutes worth of music. OVO legally manipulated him.

Roy Woods 3 managers threw him under the bus, split the $50k in three directions, and left Roy Woods with no money left to restore his album back to a full length so he could sell it. He was left in limbo to fend for himself, with no money, Drake stealing the best song off his album and not promoting the rest of Roy’s album.

This is why no OVO cosigns ever make it big, and this is why you never want to sign with OVO if you want to make it out of Toronto. At least Torey Lanez had the balls to go independent and he never had to deal with any of this shit. Blowing the whistle on you culture vulture scam artists feeding on the youth of this city.

Dear Roy Woods, you deserve better. Get a better label deal with somebody else, the Weeknd did it and so can you. Don’t let these guys enslave you like Partynextdoor and the rest of their team only getting paid $70k a year with 40 taking credit for all the music they produce. 40 receives the beats, adds “little touches” to them, then releases them under himself. All the other producers on OVO are currently shelved and make less than $70k a year in Canadian dollars.

You’ll never reach your full potential if you stay under them. If you don’t believe me, the reason Drake’s last album was so shit was because 40 took the reins and did most of it. Drake’s best albums were written and composed by other people. The Weeknd even regretted giving up half of his album to Drake just for the publicity cosign. Break free brother do not fear them, they can’t actually hurt you. Drake isn’t even signed to his own OVO label. You want to be signed to a vanity label that had guys like OB Brien on it? Take the first third party deal you can and run for your life man.

Syndicate Discusses Much FACT Grants: Watch Majid Jordan Get Down in the Video for “Small Talk”

Screenshot_43.png

https://hypebeast.com/2016/8/majid-jordan-small-talk-music-video

For all of you who aren’t Canadian. Much FACT is basically a a government grant program for artists who are too ghetto to get a label deal and pay for the own music videos. It’s helped some artists get off the ground, but typically it’s not a good look because it just demonstrates to the public that you have no label backing or investors willing to back your project.

OVO should have actually paid for this video if anything, wonder why they didn’t. OVO, you claim to be 6God’s and you can’t even give your label cosigns $10K to shoot a video? You cheap fucks.

The rest goes to pay for his debts and insane marketing campaign to mindfuck you into buying this garbage lol

Intel from inside Kanye’s Factory: Kanye West Fired 30 Staff Members After Yeezy Season 4

Screenshot_33.png

https://hypebeast.com/2016/10/kanye-west-fires-yeezy-staff

He has alot of interns getting paid 10-15$ an hour. I know some personally and I know people that they have offered the designer job to who have turned it down. Most of his team has no experience or are FIDIM grads which pretty much means they are useless . He works out of a warehouse close to Calabasas not Paris.

It’s and industry thing and probably where he thinks he’s being discriminated on. If you’re a seasoned designer 80k is a junior designer salary on top of that, what will it really do for your career. It is not positive if you go from working with actual brands that create revenue to working for someone who doesn’t have a clue and is destined to fail. With most of these celebrity brands they are used to thinking money can buy anything or because they have money they put pressure to get stuff done on a ridiculous time scale but in the industry no one gives a shit about that. They only care how many units you are ordering, that’s clout. Ye can’t compete with Forever21 who’s ordering 100k units but he still wants his stuff today and works off schedule for the season he’s in. He is designing the clothes I’ll give him that but the people executing for him have no clue or the balls to tell him what he doesn’t know. Like sorry Ye you can not get a whole new sample with wash in 24hrs or that we are getting ripped on production becase our units are so low that we can’t book capacities at the last minute. It’s not discrimination it’s business 101. Again it’s just the tip of the iceberg but either you are going to run it like a business or keep ordering sample quantities and reffering to it as a collection/ production.
