It’s and industry thing and probably where he thinks he’s being discriminated on. If you’re a seasoned designer 80k is a junior designer salary on top of that, what will it really do for your career. It is not positive if you go from working with actual brands that create revenue to working for someone who doesn’t have a clue and is destined to fail. With most of these celebrity brands they are used to thinking money can buy anything or because they have money they put pressure to get stuff done on a ridiculous time scale but in the industry no one gives a shit about that. They only care how many units you are ordering, that’s clout. Ye can’t compete with Forever21 who’s ordering 100k units but he still wants his stuff today and works off schedule for the season he’s in. He is designing the clothes I’ll give him that but the people executing for him have no clue or the balls to tell him what he doesn’t know. Like sorry Ye you can not get a whole new sample with wash in 24hrs or that we are getting ripped on production becase our units are so low that we can’t book capacities at the last minute. It’s not discrimination it’s business 101. Again it’s just the tip of the iceberg but either you are going to run it like a business or keep ordering sample quantities and reffering to it as a collection/ production.
